Quadratic order conditions for bang-singular extremals

چکیده
This paper deals with optimal control problems for systems affine in the control variable. We have nonnegativity constraints on the control, and finitely many equality and inequality constraints on the final state. First, we obtain second order necessary optimality conditions. Secondly, we get a second order sufficient condition for the scalar control case. The results use in an essential way the Goh transformation.

L1-Minimization for Mechanical Systems
Second order systems whose drift is defined by the gradient of a given potential are considered, and minimization of the L-norm of the control is addressed. An analysis of the extremal flow emphasizes the role of singular trajectories of order two [25, 29]; the case of the two-body potential is treated in detail. In L-minimization, regular extremals are associated with controls whose norm is ba...
متن کاملOn Lipschitz Stable Switching Behavior of Bang-bang Extremals in Parametric Control
In the paper, we consider ODE driven optimal control problems with bang-bang type extremals. The specific nature of bang-bang controls causes some difficulties in optimality and stability analysis. Usual convexity arguments like (strong) Legendre-Clebsch condition fail to hold, and the control discontinuity has to be taken into account. In recent years, substantial results on secondorder optima...
متن کاملBang-bang trajectories with a double switching time: sufficient strong local optimality conditions
This paper gives sufficient conditions for a class of bang-bang extremals with multiple switches to be locally optimal in the strong topology. The conditions are the natural generalizations of the ones considered in [5, 14] and [16]. We require both the strict bang-bang Legendre condition, and the second order conditions for the finite dimensional problem obtained by moving the switching times ...

متن کاملThe Markov-dubins Problem with Angular Acceleration Control
We study a modiied version of the well known Markov-Dubins problem, in which the control is angular acceleration rather than angular velocity. We show that an optimal trajectory cannot contain a junction of a bang-bang and a singular piece, and use results of Zelikin and Borisov to show that there are Pontryagin extremals involving innnite chattering.
